REFLECTION
Experience
The whole entire module is a daunting experience to me because writing is not my greatest strength and above that, the minimum requirement of the content is too much to even imagine and consider. Often a time, I struggle to understand and translate the written articles to my own words because some of the words in the article, I find it confusing to decipher let alone understand it. I would spend a huge amount of time researching on the content and finding ways to break down to chucks for me to understand. Another thing is that I am not good at summarizing paragraphs because I feel that there is nothing that I can pick up to write and I will seem to be repeating the same things over and over again.
Observation
In Task 2, when I submitted my final dissertation in Turnitin, I honestly find the system flawed, because I found out, it detects minor things that are consider plagiarism, such as picture captions, table of content and the dissertation cover itself which was the given template. I also find it surprising that there is a large amount of the detected plagiarized sections were those of the research articles that I have clearly cited. Most of the work I cannot come up with my own theories and findings from the simple Research I did. And I don't quite agree with the idea that it can only be submitted once. Otherwise, how are we supposed know and then to constantly improve our writing.Findings
Since Design Dissertation is a continuation of the Design Research Methodology, I always wondered if I screwed up in the previous module because with the results of the survey I did, which was extremely simple and limited. Thus, there is limited points to write about. In the previous semester, I was never exposed nor had the experience in designing informative and accurate questionnaire. In addition, I wanted to make sure the questionnaire is respectful to the respondents’ time. However, thanks to Ms. Jinchi for hearing my concerns she guided me on how to effectively write the dissertation even with limited results of my previous survey
